What is the going rate to buy STS and AA 12 gauge boxes for reloads?

The only problem with that is that most of the AA boxes have the rebate code cut out of the side of these boxes and a lot of the shooters that don't reload are now tearing off the flaps to fit into their carriers and pouches. FWIW. Bill

MTM makes clear plastic boxes that hold 25. Lots of 4/$5 On Amazon, Brownells etc.

They don’t fold, obviously, but will last until you lose it probably.

Been using them for a while now and really like them. They're tough and will outlast me. Only drawback is the lids pop off so to get around it I use hair bands. Also found out that when shooting in a downpour they'll fill with water so I drilled a few holes in the bottom.
I have 40 total and seems to be enough to keep going for a while.

Almost all of my STS hulls are 1oz. but I did load some with 1-1/8 using American Select (that's the "AS" you see) so I marked them "1" to keep them separated. I'm back to 1oz for singles and doubles and 1-1/8 for handicap. Everything is right around 1200fps with the 1oz at 1190 and the 1-1/8 around 1206 on average. No more marking boxes. I know the green ones are for singles and dubs and the gold are handicap. Simple.

Ahh. Okay. Makes sense now. I am probably just going to put some tape on the side and write the data. I was just curious what you were keeping track of.

Do you have a system other than inspection to keep track of number of times the hull was loaded?

"VIEWTAINER". Variety of sizes. 3-4 bucks ea at HD. The 8 X 2 3/4 will securely hold 25 12 ga. Last forever. Solid or split top.
Reloads go into a 5 gallon bucket with screw top lid. For a trip to the range they go into one of these.

If you want something durable, buy these.

They sell for 4 for under 5 bucks. You can write on the lid or side of the box with a marker and use mineral spirts to clean. MTM also sell plastic ammo crates of different sizes that hold 4, 10 and 20 shotshell boxes either the standard cardboard or MTM plastic.

Those plastic boxes look cool when they’re clean. Do they stay clean? My reloads get kinda dirty after about 4-5 times being reloaded.

Has anyone found a good REMOVABLE label to use? I tried some Avery printer labels that were supposed to be removable and they were junk. I’ve been using blue painters tape and just hand writing the load info on that.

The boxes stay clean and you can put them i the dishwasher if need be or wash them by hand. As far as labels go, You can use a dry erase or marker and the marker comes off easily with finger nail polish remover (acetone).

I was printing info on plain paper stock, 10 times on one sheet of paper. You can cut the paper up to size and put the sheets inside the box, in front, on top before the lid or on the bottom.

Now. before you all panic, the “labels” are from a different load I am not currently using. I used these “labels” to give an idea what I did. What is written on the plastic top is what is in the box.

Pretty cool trick I discovered that'll take sharpie off these boxes as if it were dry-erase...
Tear off a small piece of cardboard and wipe it right off, try it, blew my mind how easily it wipes off. I was rubbing it off with my finger which worked okay or scrubbing with paper towels until I discovered the cardboard trick.

only takes a minute and a glue gun to reverse a brand box to a generic one

or if you feel ambitious during your Covid19 scam lockdown, you can create a two piece box unit, cardboard side enclosing brand box. Don’t have to worry about flaps getting torn and dog eared. Just try to do a better job than I did.

I use mail labels for my boxes. For the plastic boxes I cut up card stock and use the mail labels on the card stock. It goes over the shells, under the lid. You can use both sides. This way I do not have mail labels stuck the the boxes and can use them for a variety of loads and easily identify what they are. Regards, Bob
